1965 Plymouth Belvedere II Hardtop purchased new right here in Tucson Arizona at Beaudry Motor Co and has Lived here ever since. The last owner who purchased the car in 2001 Began a comprehensive restoration on the solid AZ car. He owned the car until 2025, over 24 years.
The car was stripped to bare metal before undergoing a professional show quality repaint in PPG Candy Apple Red. The car retains all of its original body panels with the exception of a Hemi Scooped Lightweight hood and replacement front floor pans. Very straight car with very good panel fitment. All of the glass and chrome is in excellent shape. All the Brightwork was refinished and all of the weatherstripping was replaced with new.
A 440 Block was sourced and a complete professional build by Chriss’ engine shop was commissioned. All of the best parts were used starting with a full Eagle rotating assembly with chromalloy crank, H beam rods, hemi Journals, and Diamond 10.1 Pistons coming in at 493 cu in. Fully Balanced rotating assembly. Aluminum Edelbrock bolt on heads were used with a Performer intake and Koerner racing modified 950 CFM carburetor. The engine was Dyno Tested at 567HP and 595ft lbs of torque. A high capacity cross flow radiator was fitted for extra cooling and a full TTI 3” tuned exhaust was fitted. Engine backed by a built 727 Torqueflight with CRT Billet Drum, Manual valve body, and B&M shifter with a 2,800 rpm stall converter. The 8-3/4 “Sure Grip” Rear differential has a 3.91 gear.
Interior was redone completely and retains its original Bucket seats. Refinished in Cloth and Vinyl with sound deadening under the carpet. The Dash and gauges were all restored including re chroming the plastic gauge Bezels, an item most overlook when restoring a car. Radio and wiper work great. The car was originally a factory AC car and still retains the original flip up vents atop the satin painted dashboard.
All the suspension was rebuilt, frame connectors were added, disc brakes were fitted up front with a dual master cylinder for safer more efficient stopping. Rolls on Cragar SS rims with Michelins up front and Mickey Thompson Drag radials out back.
Runs amazing, super crisp throttle responsive and very user friendly. Warms up enough to idle and sit in gear in less than 30 seconds. Very fast car that drives great. Mechanically dialed in and ready to enjoy. Documented by Chrysler Historical paperwork, 2 broadcast sheets, and comes with a huge file of Build receipts and dyno sheets.
