1965 Chelby Cobra Coupe by Factory Five Racing. Extremely well documented build that was completed in 2012. Pro built by a meticulous builder who took detailed notes and made diagrams of all part installations, he hand made many of the aluminum panels , inserts, , and accents that make this car stand out from the rest.
The body was painted in Sherman Williams Satin LeMans Blue by Hi Speed Rod and Custom here in Tucson. Car looks great with only minor flaws from regular use. Custom window frames were made to house sliding windows for fresh air. The rear hatch is full lexan with riveted frame. It has a few stress cracks as shown in the photos. The interior house 2 racing seats with headrests and Simpson Harnesses. Autometer gauges and labeled switches are layed out nicely. The Cobra steering wheel has a quick release to make it easier for some to get in and out. This Cobra has Vintage Air AC and heat that works great. There is a spare out back as well as jack stored under an access door in the rear floor. Car has a roll cage and fire extinguisher for added safety.
The engine was sourced from Ford Racing (part# M-6007-XE3M) and is a 5.0 liter with 9.1 Compression, full roller, and aluminum GT40 heads. It was topped with a Mass Flo port injected electronic fuel injection that assures a great running car hot or cold at any elevation. Custom Headers are jet hot coated. The car has a “Fuel Safe” fuel cell. Backed by a tremec 5 speed manual transmission. The independent differential houses a 3.06 differential for High Speed driving.
The chassis sports double A arm suspension with adjustable QA1 coil overs and HD sway bars. Steering is fully adjustable power rack and pinion. Oversized disck brakes with a “hydroboost” Brake Booster make this car stop on a dime. You cant beat the hydraulic Boosters. Rolls on 17″ 5 spoke Shelby rims with Nitto NT555 extra sticky road tires.
Extremely well done and sorted Cobra with only 1400 miles on the build. Comes with a whole box of receipts, parts instructions, detailed diagrams, and spare parts. Titled as a “1965 Ford SPCON Coupe”
