1964 1/2 K code mustang coupe. This very early production K code coupe was produced on June 10th 1964, the 10th day of Hi Po 289 production. Single ownership from 1993 until 2024, over 30 years!

Solid AZ car that was restored under its previous owners care who was an avid Mustang enthusiast and club member. Refinished in its original color of Wimbledon white with matching white interior, code 46. (“white with black trim”)  All of the chrome and stainless looks good with some pieces only showing some minor aging but certainly no pitting anywhere, consistent of a southwest car. Paint looks great and was refinished to a factory appearance, not overdone as many “show cars” are restored today. All of the glass is original and in very nice shape with original factory markings. Windshield has one very small chip on the passenger side.

The interior is very nice showing little wear. Refinished in the correct factory white with black trim. Seat belts have been fitted in the front seats only. All of the gauges work including the Rally Pac Tach. Clock is inoperative. AM FM radio works great. Heater and wipers work, as do all of the interior and exterior lighting. All weatherstrips and seals were replaced when restored and are in good condition.

The 289 Hi Po engine runs amazing and sound even better with its solid lifter tappets. Upgraded with genuine Shelby Cobra intake and valve covers with a Carter “Competition Series” 600 cfm Carburetor with manual choke.  Exhaust manifolds were Cerakote’d and the dual exhaust runs Dynomax mufflers. Engine is backed by an upgraded T-5 super HD 5 speed overdrive although I still retain the original style toploader 4 speed if the new owner prefers the original it can be included with the car.  The car retains its original Ford 9″ differential with 3.50 standard gear.   Rolls on chrome styled steel rims with Cooper “Cobra” radials.

In addition to the Shelby Cobra engine mods the car was also upgraded with lowered front A-Arms as the 66 Shelbys were, front and rear sway bars, KONI shocks, and 4 piston disc brakes up front. The car has an export brace and Monte Carlo Bar.

I spent a  day running errands in this car and can assure you it has tons of power. handles great,  and is truly a fun car to drive! Hard to beat a factory K code mustang!
