1963 Ford Thunderbird Sports Roadster. One of only 455 Sports roadsters produced in 1963. The previous owner and restorer acquired the car over 25 years ago.
Painted in the early 2000’s in Corinthian White, a factory color. Paint shows only minimal age and was recently fully sanded and buffed. It looks amazing and has a mirror finish. Panels are very straight, the Door, hood, and trunk gaps are very good. No evidence of any rust repair except for the front footwells which were replaced with reproduction steel pieces. The rest of the floor, trunk, and rockers are original and solid.
Chrome and stainless brightwork were refinished as needed. The Kelsey Hayes style wire rims, factory correct on a sports roadster, look excellent. All weatherstripping and seals were replaced with new. Front windshield was replaced. Side glass is very good and fits the convertible top well.
Interior was completely replaced with Correct covers and carpets. Door panels were restored. All power window and top mechanicals were restored. The trunk was beautifully refinished with correct paneling and has the original jack and spare intact.
The 390 V8 runs excellent and has good power. 3 speed automatic transmission shifts fine. The front suspension was rebuilt with new bushings, ball joints, and tie rods. The power brakes were rebuilt and the car stops nice and straight. Optioned with power steering and tilt away steering wheel.
Only 8800 careful miles since restored and the car looks spectacular. Clear Arizona title branded as “restored salvage” for unknown reasons a long time ago. Ready to enjoy as a driver or take to Car Shows. It is a very well sorted car and a pleasure to drive.
