1962 Lincoln Continental Convertible with only 22,700 original miles. Formerly owned and displayed at the AACA museum in Hershey, Pennsylvania. During those years it was used for parades and shows by the museum. Sold by the museum to a California dealer who replaced the Leather seats and carpet in 2006. He sold the car to a Tucson AZ resident who cared for the car the last 17 years before our acquisition. I’ve known the vehicle throughout its ownership here in Tucson and even did some repairs and upgrades to it while the previous owner had the car.
Powered by its original 430 v8 and 3 speed automatic transmission. Runs and drives beautifully. Suspension is nice and tight as is the steering, this car glides down the road. Optioned with power brakes and steering. The exhaust was replaced with a new correct reproduction replacement about 8 years ago, the car is whisper quiet as these Lincolns should be.
When I purchased the car it had all original paint in the factory applied “Champagne.” Many years ago it had a paint repair on the passenger fender and driver side door. It had lacquer cracked over the years and I could not leave it as is considering how nice the rest of the car was. We repaired those areas but could not get the paint to match panel to panel on the side cast so we opted to repaint both sides completely below the beltline trim and it shows excellent now. All of the chrome and stainless is in very good shape but does show minor imperfections and some aging. All of the weather stripping is original and in good shape. Windshield is original and has no road rash, evidence of the very low original miles of this very rare Lincoln.
Interior is in very good shape and largely original in the factory “Pearl Honey Beige.” Seats had the Leather replaced in 2006, carpets were replaced at that time as well. Beautiful crack free Dash and Woodgrain steering wheel. We rebuilt the factory power Antenna. Power seats work well as do all the windows. The car still had the original top when I purchased the car but it showed a little wear and the rear window was too dark to see through from age. I purchased a new top from “Robbins” and had it professionally installed with all new seals. We purchased a complete Trunk kit from MK2 enterprises to freshen up the top storage area. Top Functions perfectly and the windows lower and raise on the back doors automatically when top is up as they should.
Rolls on brand new BF Goodrich Reproduction 9.50-14″ tires with correct 1″ whitewall.
These cars are hard to find in this condition, truly a fine example ready to enjoy.
