Restoration started in the 1990’s with a solid , rust free, San Jose built F100 factory Big window that resided in the Los Angeles Area until it came to Tucson. The first owner never completed the restoration and it was sold to the second owner in 2010. He completed the truck and it was sold to the last owner here in Tucson that owned the truck from 2014-2021. The owner here in Tucson quickly made upgrades to the car to increase power, reliability, comfort, handling, and also gave it that killer Stance.
Paint and Body were professionally done years ago with DuPont Enamel in the Ford color of “Calypso Coral.” Panels are extremely straight and panel alignment is excellent. Fully sanded and buffed for a show quality finish. It has a few very minor paint chip touch ups from use but overall still shows excellent. The hood is a custom Flip Forward design. The rear tailgate has custom chrome “no rattle” latches. Wood bed was finished in Oak and the slats were chromed. Undercarriage truck is rust free and shows no signs of any panel replacement.
Interior was refinished in Black for a very 60’s feel . Gauge cluster was restored and late 60’s Stewart Warner gauges were added. The fully chromed column has a very cool Lincoln Continental steering wheel in excellent original condition. There is a “secret audio” stereo system with adjustable subwoofer and CD changer. The system is controlled by a hand held remote. Vintage Air AC and heat was installed in 2014, works great. The wipers were upgraded to electric. The complete wiring system was replaced and has a modern fuse block. All of the door seals and window weatherstripping/ fuzzies were replaced. Doors open and close amazingly with a nice solid rattle free sound.
Fitted with a Thunderbird 312 Y Block fully rebuilt in 2014 by Garys engine and Machine here in Tucson with receipts. Bored .060 over with all new Pistons, bearings, upgraded cam, lifters, valves, and springs. Its fitted with and Edelbrock 4 barrel 600 cfm carb and electronic ignition. Exhaust manifolds were sourced from Speedway Motors. The C4 Automatic Transmission was completely resealed, inspected, and bench tested in 2014 by Sharps Transmission. The rear differential is a dana 44 with 273 gear. The front suspension is a complete clip from TCI sporting A-arms with adjustable Ride Tech Coil overs, HD Sway bar, power rack and pinion steering, and Disc brakes. Wheels are 15″ bigs nd littles from Vintique and were powdercoated to match the car.
This F100 drives great and is well sorted . Big window F100’s are extremely rare. Needs nothing but to be enjoyed and shown.
