1953 Mercury Monterey convertible that has undergone a comprehensive frame off restoration to show quality standards. Most believe 1953 to be the most attractive year for the Monterey, and I certainly agree!
This car was completely disassembled, no bolt was left unturned in this very detailed restoration. Finished in the factory color of “Yosemite Yellow” with matching correct restored interior. Rare options for the year include power top, power windows, and even a power seat!
The Flathead v8 runs beautifully and the cruise o matic automatic transmission works seamlessly. A complete reproduction wiring harness was used in the restoration with the correct cloth coverings. All accessories work including Radio, heater, wipers(slow when not wet), windows, top, and seat. We upgraded the seat gears with brass units from MK 2 enterprises and it works great. An additional cooling fan was added for hot days that is thermostat controlled.
All chrome, stainless, and brightwork were restored to show quality. All weatherstrips and rubber seals were replaced. The power top was refitted with a black Haartz canvas, all of the bows were restored and re-chromed where needed.
Certainly one of the finest examples of a 1953 Monterey Convertible available.
