1952 Studebaker Custom Pickup completely restored from the ground up with modern upgrades for reliability, comfort, and drivability. Restored by The Grandson of the trucks original owner who owned (and the family still owns) Ayers Electric Co in Morris Il.
Very solid and straight truck that still retains its original paint from the Cab Forward that was clear coated over to protect the original finish and to allow for a proper match to the Bed which was added during restoration because it had a flatbed on it originally. The bed is amazingly straight and has been rhino lined inside the bed with a lockable box added. The bed was patina painted to match the rest of the truck. During restoration the metal steps and rockers were replaced professionally to eliminate the small amount of rust the truck had. The majority of the floors are still original and solid.
The Chassis was completely restored and upgraded with 4 wheel power Disc Brakes, power steering, and a freshly rebuilt ford 9″ Posi Traction rear differential with 3.73 gear. The 350 V8 and Th350 automatic transmission were sourced from a 1970’s impala with only 19,000 miles. The engine was upgraded with an RV Cam, lifters, 600CFM weber Carburetor, MSD electronic ignition, and custom Exhaust. Both the engine and transmission received all new seals. A heavy duty aluminum radiator was added with an auxiliary fan for extra hot days just in case.
A complete modern wiring harness was added with modern fuses. All of the lighting is LED. It has a Custom Autosound stereo with touch Screen and subwoofer that sounds great. It has a Dukes of Hazard air Horn.
Less than 500 miles since completion, it is well sorted and ready to enjoy!
