1950 Chevrolet Deluxe Convertible. Restored in the early 2000’s and still looks amazing. It has all the looks of a stock 50 deluxe but with modern upgrades for comfort, reliability, and better handling characteristics.
Powered by a 350V8 engine topped with an Edelbrock intake and Carter Carburetor. It has electronic ignition, a 12 volt alternator, and rams horn exhaust. The engine is backed by a 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive that was just rebuilt a few years back by Sharps transmission here in Tucson. It runs great and has good power.
The Chassis was modified with a Camaro front clip with A Arm suspension, power steering, and Power Disc brakes. It has a later model 10 bolt rear differential with parallel leaf springs. The drive shaft was custom made and precision balanced. A dual reservoir brake master cylinder is mounted in the stock location and adds extra safety.
Very Solid car top to bottom with no evidence of any panel replacement except for the spare tire well which is custom. All original rock solid floors and rockers. Car was stripped to bare metal before its professional show quality repaint in original “Empire Red.” Very straight panels fully sanded and buffed t a mirror finish. It does have some very minor imperfections from use over the years that I have taken close up photos of in the gallery. Excellent panel gaps throughout and the doors open and close easily.
Interior was finished in 2 tone Ultraleather. Custom Door panels with Armrests built in. The dash was restored and has a very cool flip down grille that hides he heater, stereo, And top controls. It also has flip out aluminum cup holders that swing out from under the dash. For added comfort it has a modern tilt steering column and a custom smaller steering wheel that appears stock. The smaller wheel works better with the power steering and gives the driver more room. The power convertible top has been fully restored and is made from top Quality Hartz Canvas. All seals were replaced, and the top frame was professionally repainted and restored. The windows fit the top frame nicely when up. The trunk is finished nicely with custom side panels, spare cover, chrome jack, and a chrome fire extinguisher.
