1938 Diamond T Pickup custom built from the ground up to the highest standard built with comfort, drivability, and reliability in mind.
The build started with an original 1938 Diamond T truck cab and chassis. The stock cab and front sheet metal were fitted to a 2006 GMC 1 ton Chassis. The rear bed and fenders were expertly handcrafted from steel resulting in a Diamond T like no other you will find. The paint and body are spectacular, laser straight, expertly fitted and massaged door gaps, fully sanded and buffed to perfection. While this truck appears black in direct sunlight you can see a glimmer of fine dark red pearl in the paint. The beltline and dash are painted a dark cherry pearl in contrast to the Black finish of the truck. Absolutely stunning. All of the chrome was refinished to show quality. All glass is new, sides and back are ‘Smoked.” A custom maple bed was handcrafted and beautifully finished. The tailgate has gas shocks and hidden latches.
The interior is all custom leather finished. The Dash insert houses Classic Instruments gauges in a machine turned aluminum panel. All wiring in the truck was replaced with new capable of handling the Vintage Air AC and Heat, power windows, and fuel injected engine. A custom steering column houses a turn signal switch and Banjo Steering wheel. The cab is also fitted with a Custom Autosound stereo with remote control and speakers built in behind the seat.
This truck drives like a modern 1 ton truck. The complete chassis and drivetrain was sourced from a band new cab and chassis with the 8100 Vortec fuel injected v8 and 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission. It has 4 wheel hydroboost disc brakes, power steering, Independent front suspension with sway bar, and a big Dana 60 rear differential. Custom Black powdercoated wheels were special made for the truck and they ride on 225 70R19.5 Kelly Radials.
One of a kind creation pro built to the highest standard based on one of the most sought-after vintage trucks around. A crowd pleaser at the car shows and you will never have to worry about another one pulling up next to you! Less than 1100 miles on the build!
