Extremely rare and desirable Chris Craft model 57, 21’triple cockpit runabout. Hull #21043 was completed June 7th 1934 for delivery to Chicago, Illinois. Advertised in era as the “Level Riding Runabout.” The triple cockpit was designed for 9 passengers and had a top speed of 36mph when new.
Fully restored by well known wooden boat restorer, “Jechort’s Wood boat works, INC” out of Winneconne , Wi with completion in 2002. The hull was upgraded to a “No Soak” 5200 bottom. The original Chrysler 6 cylinder Flathead engine was replaced with a Mercury Marine “5.7 litre Competition Ski” and Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission. All new Classic Instruments Gauges and wiring was installed at the time of restoration.
Previous owner had the boat for over 25 years and it was always stored in a heated airplane hangar near Pewaukee Lake, Wisconsin. The boat was only used a few times per season and still shows wonderfully with only very minor scratches and imperfections from careful use. Named “Hotsy Totsy” and was applied by decal on top of varnish so could be easily removed and renamed if you wish to do so.
Comes with original Build records from the “Mariners Museum Library,” Boat Survey from Jechorts Wood Boat Works Inc, and all manuals and warranty Booklets for the Mercury Marine Drivetrain. Comes with a Continental Trailer from 1995 that just had a hub service and new tires installed. Runs and rides amazingly with much more power than original. Just had it in Pine Lake the week of July 4th and it was a blast! Ready to enjoy.
