1930 Ford Model A Cabriolet. The luxury roadster with folding top and roll up windows. Very correctly restored years ago but still shows beautifully. Gracefully aged showing some patina from years of careful use with a few modern upgrades for safer and more comfortable touring.
Refinished in original Seal Brown and Black Lacquer paint over an amazingly straight and solid body with no evidence of patch panels or repairs showing. The bottoms of the fenders are as nice as the top sides. Floors are solid. Panel fitment is very nice. The front fenders still have the original bead edging evident the whole way around, very rare to find these days. While the paint looks great under closer inspection it does have some ag related flaws that are detailed in the picture gallery. Mostly on the front fenders. The firewall still sports the original Briggs Body tag, I have not seen an original in many years.
The interior was sourced with all correct materials from LeBaron Bonney. The seat has a few small wear marks on driver side otherwise it is all in very good shape. The wool carpets are newer and in excellent shape. Top goes up and down easily and the windows fit well. The top is in very good shape inside and out. The Rumble seat is correct grain and has the proper mat and side boards. The wood graining specific to Fords Luxury model cars was done expertly and shows well. All gauges operate. Blinkers were fitted for extra safety.
The 201 4 cylinder flathead engine was rebuilt at some point and runs amazing. The cooling system and charging system were recently overhauled by the previous owner. Upgraded with a “Mitchell” gear splitter overdrive. Very handy on hills and the highway, a great option for these old Fords to have. The 3 speed floor shifted transmission sports an era “Marbled” gear shift knob.
Rolls on the original 19″ spoke rims in factory correct “Tacoma Cream” with Lucas 4.75/5.00 x 19 tires that are in very good shape and are still soft with no aging visible but am unsure of age.
