Amazing survivor 1978 F150 Flareside 4×4 Pickup. Prior to our purchase in 2024, this one owner vehicle was purchased new in Southern California and later moved to Southern Arizona. The sole owner reported it was used primarily for picking up hay for his horses. Special ordered with tons of factory options and a very desirable color combination. Showing 26,490 miles but likely 126,490. Sure looks amazing for a nearly All original truck.
All original Paint with the exception of the passenger rear fender which we just recently refinished due to a grapefruit sized dent. On a truck as original as this I would have left it for added character but it had been painted once before years ago so I felt there was no harm in making it right. Must of been the original owners blind spot! Paint shines great but has many blemishes from age and use. We spent a great deal of time detailing the truck top to bottom, all it really needed was a good cleaning. The rust free underside still shows all of the original red oxide primer floor pans, factory markings, and labels.
Powered by the optional 351 v8 and the “New Process” 4 speed manual transmission. Rear differential is a 3.50 geared limited slip. Still retains its original exhaust and even the EPA sticker on the drivers door glass. Other options include Power steering, power disc brakes, sport steering wheel, and Frigi-King Air conditioning installed when the truck was new.
The ALL original interior is in amazing shape and is certainly a testament to the extreme care this truck was given over the years. The seat has a few splits on the vertical stitching but is still very usable. The dashboard has no cracks. All of the seat belts are intact. The floor mat is in amazing condition.
Mechanically this truck is in great shape, runs and drives very well and does not smoke. Everything works with the exception of the air conditioning which blows and compressor turns on but not cold.
Amazing time capsule F150 Flareside, you will not find a nicer ORIGINAL example of this model truck.
