One of only 2Ā Porsche D/P 924/933 produced by Porsche in Germany, #54 Herman Miller Chassis #03-410 raced by Tom Brennan. This car was built at the factory in Stuttgart, the other car was built at Weissach and delivered to Al Holbert, driven by Doc Bundy. Porsche produced a total of 16 924/933 race cars but only 2 were built in Germany.Ā This car was used as the cover car for the Porsche DP racing Booklet.
#03-410 First raced at Road Atlanta in 10/79 as #54 Herman Miller car and was campaigned at numerous races throughout the year until it was involved in a major wreck during a qualifying session at Road Atlanta on 10/80. The car was set aside at the time as a new āPorsche DP Kitā was supplied to Heman Miller and built in a record 24 hours by Brennan and his crew documented in the Dec 1980 article named āInstant Legendā in Sports Car Magazine.
Tom Brennan heard Peter Miller was going to leave the wrecked car(#03-410) in Atlanta so he asked Peter if he could have it and he agreed. Brennan purchased a trailer from Terry Earwood to haul the car back to his shop in Danville Il. (receipt on Road Atlanta letterhead included) When time was allowed over the next 2 years the car was rebuilt and converted to SCCA GT3 specifications. It was first raced after repaired at IRP on 4/23/1982. Tom also raced the car at the Champion Spark Plug Road Racing Classic on 10/17/1982 and sold it after to Pary Cross. Pary raced the car until 7/14/1989 and wound up selling it back to Tom Brennan. Brennan owned the car from 1989-2023. Tom Scored 3 SCCA wins with the car in the 2004-2005 Mothers Day Competition at IRP(trophies included)
The 1986 CC engine has less than 4 hours on it. Bored .030 over with Weber Carbs and Dry Sump oiling. 5 speed limited slip transaxle with Koni Adjustable Coil Overs and Wilwood Disc Brakes. Halon fire extinguisher. Will need a proper going over, updated seatbelts, etc before racing. New fuel Cell in 2023.
