Chassis #10 of a total of 16 Factory built Porsche 924/933 D production race cars. Originally delivered and prepped by Legendary Porsche racing champion and director of Porsche Motorsport North America Al Holbert and his racing team in Warrington, PA. Porsche used this car as a track demonstrator to promote D production and then later C production racing and was described as mostly “celebrity driven.” It was later acquired by Dave Finch as part of a lawsuit settlement between Dave and Porsche N.A. Dave sold the Car to Tom Brennan who was the caretaker of the car from 1986 until 2023.
The car retains all of its original and extremely rare factory DP parts. The 2.0 factory DP engine still retains its correct parts and runs great showing good compression and leak down numbers. Still retains its correct 933 Limited slip transaxle , control arms, brakes, wheels, etc. Likely the most original and intact 924/933 Factory built D production car in existence. The only modifications appear to be steel 944 quarter panels installed by Holbert in the early 80’s to give the car a “C Production” appearance.
A true time capsule and a very rare example of a factory Porsche race car. Comes with D production parts booklets, Factory Media guide with fact sheet and parts catalogue, copy of Bill of sale from Dave Finch to Tom Brennan, SCCA Recognition form copies for D production 924, misc. documents, photo, and recent mechanical receipts.
