1934 Ford Victoria Street Rod. Exceptional example built in Traditional Style. It has been in Tucson since 1981 when it was purchased from a good friend of Lynn Williams (C.W. Moss) at the LA roadster show. It was a fresh build and the buyer paid $27,000 for it at the time, a huge sum of money back then for a Street Rod. It was a staple at shows across the southwest and eventually was sold to another Tucsonan Hot Rodder who Commissioned a complete cosmetic restoration including a new engine and transmission in 2005.
Hi Speed Rod and Custom stripped the car to bare metal and uncovered the straightest original patch free early ford body ever seen by the shop owners. It was professionally refinished in 2 stage Dupont and is amazingly straight with excellent gaps. Fully sanded and buffed to a mirror finish and is show quality. The undersides of fenders were coated with a German paintable liner to prevent damage from rocks. All chrome was refinished at the time and the car retains its original bumpers.
The interior was completely refinished with wool material by Bob Meeker. It is stunning and very tasteful. Top was replaced at the same time. Wood grain Dash and garnish moldings still looked great from the previous restoration, so they remained untouched. Seats fold forward and is adjustable forward and back. New gauges were added to the passenger kick panel as to not clutter the dash. New smoked glass replaced the old and new seals were installed throughout.
The chassis remained untouched since the previous restoration with the exception of new bushings and Bilstein shocks. A trailer hitch was added but never put into use. The front is dropped tube axle with 4 bar and vega steering box, rear is a chromed Ford 9″ with parallel leaf suspension. Disc brakes up front and drum in the rear. A new crate GM 300hp engine was installed along with a th350 transmission. It has a HD Walker Brass radiator. Rolls on 15″ kelsey hayes style rims and BFG tires.
Stunning Car that still appears Fresh with only 1000 miles since the restoration. It has a few extremely minor blemishes from age (chip touch ups) but still looks Amazing. You would be hard pressed to find one nicer.
